
Multiple Award-Winning Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade has been appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). According to a post on the organization’s official twitter handle, Yemi Alade will join through her music and art will continue to champion the actualization of the SDGs.
This latest appointment means she will alongside legendary musician, Tu Face Idibia be joining UN team as an ambassador. Yemi Alade took to Instagram to share the good news of her UN appointment.
Speaking on the new role, the singer revealed that she is ready to hit the ground running and get to work in helping UNDP achieve its sustainable development goals by 2030, especially at this critical time where Covid-19 has impacted on many lives, further widening the gap between the rich and the poor.
